Data Protection and Private Policy
Objective:
To safeguard the personal information of all trainees, clients, and employees in compliance with the Data Protection Act of Jamaica (2020).
Scope:
This policy applies to all online interactions, training programs, consultancy services, and any other digital transactions involving personal data.
Policy Statement:
MTC is committed to ensuring the privacy and security of personal information by implementing best practices in data protection, aligning with Jamaica’s Data Protection Act (2020). All personal data collected, processed, or stored through our online platform is handled with the utmost confidentiality and care.
Key Provisions:
Data Collection: Personal information, including names, addresses, email contacts, and employment history, is collected solely for the purposes of training, certification, and consultancy services.
Consent: No data will be collected without the express consent of the individual, and users have the right to withdraw consent at any time.
Data Usage: Collected data will only be used for the purposes explicitly stated and will not be shared with third parties without prior consent.
Data Storage: Personal data is securely stored using encrypted servers that comply with industry standards. Access to sensitive information is restricted to authorized personnel only.
Data Retention: Data will be retained for the duration required by law (5 years minimum), after which it will be securely disposed of.
Right to Access & Rectification: Individuals have the right to request access to their personal data and have any inaccuracies rectified.
Breach Reporting: In the event of a data breach, affected individuals will be notified within 72 hours, and necessary legal measures will be undertaken.
Compliance:
MTC will ensure compliance by conducting regular audits of data protection processes and providing staff with ongoing training on data protection practices.
